Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has threatened to retaliate against the PDP presidential candidate council on behalf of the G5 governors if any council member insults the governors.
The governor issued the threat on Monday at the official start of a new road project in Rivers State’s Eleme Local Government area.
Wike said that his group will no longer put up with any insults from PDP presidential campaign members, adding that they are not opposed to maintaining peace within the party.
What I want to say to the PDP presidential candidate is that we mean peace and that we want to all work together to win the election,”
Wike said. “However, let me state unequivocally that if any of you continue to criticise the G5 and party leaders, we will respond.
“We will retaliate if anyone in the PDP Presidential Council again dared to insult the PDP governors in G5 and the integrity group. It is enough already.
Equity, justice, and fairness are all we seek. Nobody should consider us a given.
The governor expressed regret that some PDP members who recently left the APC would criticise the PDP governors.
